How do I renew a book? How do I access My Account at the library?


Instructions for Online Renewal

To renew your library items, go to My Account (from the William H. Hannon Library website, you can find this option in the navigation menu).

1) Log in using your credentials.

Faculty, staff, and students:

  • Choose your status (LMU student or LMU Faculty/Staff)
  • Enter your LMU username and password. (This page still uses your username alias (e.g. alion2) and not your full LMU email. Students can just drop the part, faculty and staff can use the Account Lookup tool to find their username.)
  • Select "Submit".

Visitor with Borrowing Privileges:

  • Enter your name and library number from the back of your OneCard, just above the barcode.
  • Select "Submit".

2) To the left, you will see your name and a list of actions. To see items checked out to you, select "Items currently checked out" on the left side. You can "Renew all" or "Renew selected items" by checking the item box.

Guidelines for Online Renewals

  • Academic Year Borrowers can renew items up to 90 days before their due date. Shorter-term borrowers can renew items any time before they are due.
  • You can check your record online at My Account to make sure items are properly renewed. Contact the Circulation Desk for assistance.
  • You can always print a copy of your renewed books or record the new due date for each book on the date due slip, or self-check receipt.
  • If online renewal services are unavailable, you can try again later or bring the items to the Circulation Desk to renew them in person. Call the Circulation Desk if you have any questions about the materials listed in your account.
