How do I recover my saved document?
Library computers are set up to delete all saved documents upon restart or half an hour of inactivity. ITS and the library have no way to recover documents that are lost when a computer restarts or turns off. We encourage you to save your work regularly to an external flash drive, to Google Drive or Dropbox, or email your document to yourself.
If the computer has not yet restarted:
- Try searching for the name of your document or for a key phrase in the document in case you accidentally saved it somewhere other than the Desktop.
- If your program is frozen but the computer has not restarted, please contact the Information Desk staff for help.
