How do I create an account in ILLiad (interlibrary loan service)?
ILLiad is a system for requesting books and articles that the library does not own itself, through Interlibrary Loan (ILL). Through ILLiad you can also request scans of LMU-owned print articles and book chapters (within copyright rules). Use the Article or Book Chapter form.
Your ILLiad account is linked to your library record by the library barcode number on the back of your OneCard, but the login information is separate from your MyLMU information and is created by you.
To create an ILLiad account, open the ILLiad home page.
Click on "Create an Account" under "New User?" (bottom left side of the page).
Read the registration agreement for information about copyright, creating your login information, and the ILLiad FAQ. Click First Time Users Click Here at the bottom of the page.
Complete the New User Registration Form. You will need the library barcode number from the back of your OneCard. If you do not have a OneCard, please fill out the Library Barcode Request Form first so that library staff can create one for you.
Create a username and password (if you choose to use your MyLMU information, keep in mind this will not change if you reset your MyLMU password in the future).
Select "Submit Information", and you have created an ILLiad account.
To fill out a request form, select the appropriate form under "Submit Interlibrary Request".
Sometimes, you might see a button to "Request this article" or a link to request an article from interlibrary loan - if you are signed into your ILLiad account, often the database will fill out the form for you.
